Kings Road 

Chelsea is regarded by most as the centre of affluent culture in London, and it's high street - the popular King's Road (aka the KR) - demonstrates this with style. Here is a place where fans and followers of the fashion world can unite amongst the presence of some of the biggest names the scene has to offer, and who bigger than Vivienne Westwood. Okay, you may not spot her wandering down the street, but the area is often associated with her and other famous faces from the designer clothing world. So called due to its history of being a prior King's private road to Kew, King's Road was home to the world's first artificial ice rink, Led Zeppelin's record label, and is still home to the UK's first ever branch of Starbucks. It seems the road in general has always been ?down with the crowd?, being the centre for counterculture during the hippy and punk eras, and you'll find more than a few people today claiming it is "the best street in London". Filled with designer boutique stores, the Eastern side of this West End location oozes clothes and fashion all the way up to Sloane Square (for which we also provide a map). These are interspersed with popular high street shops and cafes, and some rather fabulous eateries. If a posh day out is what you're after, get on your high heels (or shiny shoes) and come for a wander... or should that be 'wonder'?
