Clapham Junction 

Clapham Junction isn't on any Underground line, and yeah the lovely Lavender flowers that give their name to some of the streets are long gone since the industrial development since the late 1800's when the station opened, but it's still one of the most popular shopping destinations. And it's no wonder why when you look at the range of shops that are there. The area seems to have been able to pull together into one place a little something for everyone, from comics stores to party palaces, from gigantic department stores to health clubs. It's handy, when you think about it, as Clapham Junction is the biggest hub for transport in to and out of London - so if you're going to visit some friends and need to pick up a gift or two on the way you couldn't be in a better place. The striking architecture of the Debenhams building gives the immediate area an almost Dickensian feel, and the atmosphere can be akin to the hustle and bustle of a market - without the market. As you stray further from the station, however, that atmosphere and architecture are soon lost, replaced with a stream of independent shops and world food cafes and restaurants. You'll certainly be spoilt for choice as far as shops go that won't break the bank or empty your pocket.
